My Favourite Protein Shake Recipes

A while ago, I completed a one month trial of Eimele’s Meal Replacement Shakes. Having never tried protein powder before, I wasn’t sure what to expect and while it took a little getting used to, I’ll be happy to shake one up when I don’t feel like cooking or not that hungry.

Here are some of my favourite chocolate and vanilla based recipes.

1 tbsp chia seeds
1/2 banana
1.5 cups almond or oat milk
1 Eimele Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake

Optional
1 Tbsp hemp seeds
1 date

Tip: Heat up the milk for a hot chocolate.

I love using the Nutribullet to blend up my recipes. For chocolate mousse or a smoothie bowl, add a whole banana (fresh or frozen).

Nutella Smoothie

  • 1 date
  • pinch salt
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1.5 cups almond milk
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup roasted hazelnuts
  • 1 Eimele Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake

If you don’t have hazelnuts, walnuts, macadamias or almonds make a good substitute. Best of all, there’s no palm oil in this version.

Blueberry Vanilla

  • 1 cup blueberries (frozen or fresh)
  • 1.5 cups unsweetened milk (almond, cashew, or regular)
  • 1/2 cup plain or coconut water
  • 1 Eimele Vanilla Meal Replacement Shake

The vanilla has a much stronger flavour so I find adding something tart like blueberries help cut the sweetness. In the past, I’ve also tried lemon/lime juice, or pear. Coconut milk also works.
